2015 sees NASH celebrating a significant milestone with one of our key customers as we mark fifteen years of continuous business with The Becker Group.
Based in Liverpool, The Becker Group produces industrial coatings, particularly for coiled metal sheet used to manufacture building materials such as cladding and consumer goods like refrigerators, washing machines and mobile phones.
The Becker Group first contacted NASH all those years ago when they were experiencing poor mechanical seal performance on their Willy Bachofen (WAB) KD45 Dyno-Mills. Seals were only lasting a few weeks at a time, which was impacting production output, causing additional and unnecessary downtime and creating significant environmental problems.
NASH upgraded the mechanical seals on all 7 Dyno-Mills to a bespoke pressurised double seal configuration which was able to operate successfully and for longer on the highly viscose solvent based medias involved. Mechanical seal and mill performance improved from two weeks to twelve months, with downtime and environmental concerns eliminated.
‘NASH has helped us to significantly improve the performance of our equipment and plant’ said John Strachan, Engineering & Site Service Manager, The Becker Group.
‘Indeed, we recently decided to place an order to further enhance the design of these seals with the aim of increasing seal life to 3 years’.
‘We have enjoyed the long term relationship that has been forged on that first project, and have taken huge satisfaction from helping The Becker Group continue to improve their plant performance’ comments Barry Hoyle, managing director, NASH.
‘As a leading authority with forty years experience in mechanical seals, we help our partners provide an integrated service to customers, and help those customers maximize the performance of their seal assets’
