NASH has enjoyed a relationship with a company that manufactures and services glass lined reactors for many years.
We began working with this company having been asked to provide a more responsive and lower cost repair service for the mechanical seals utilised on their equipment. However, as we assessed the condition and performance of each seal as part of our repair service, it quickly became apparent that build quality and lack of condition information and service history were contributing to poor seal reliability.
NASH addressed these issues through our seal repair service by introducing inspection reports, assuming full responsibility for the repair and build of all seal cartridges and introduced a pressure test to verify build integrity prior to shipment.
Premature seal failure was ultimately reduced from 15% of all seal change outs to <1%. In addition, the introduction of inspection reports enabled our client to further improve seal reliability for their customers.
A service partnership focused on improving seal performance has ensured our customer has been able to stay ahead in offering services to users of their equipment that help them to reduce their costs of ownership. They have won significant new business as a direct consequence of single sourcing with NASH, ultimately allowing them to secure an annual revenue stream in excess of £1m. They have also reduced their own costs and increased their profitability as a result of improved pricing, service response and seal performance.
