Seal Support Systems - designed and manufactured by NASH
A seal support system is the auxiliary piping, reservoir, instrumentation, and cooling/pressurisation equipment used to create the correct operating environment for a mechanical seal. Its purpose is to control temperature, pressure, lubrication, contamination, and leakage, which significantly improves seal reliability and life.
Why seal support systems are needed
Mechanical seals generate heat and operate in challenging conditions such as:
- High temperatures
- Abrasive fluids
- Hazardous chemicals
- High pressures
- Crystallizing or polymerising products
Without proper support, seals can overheat, wear rapidly, leak, or fail prematurely.
Key components of the NASH system include:
- Pressurised reservoir
- Nitrogen blanket
- Pressure instrumentation
- Thermosyphon cooling system
- Barrier fluid circulation loop
Designed and built by NASH, our seal support systems meet European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) with ASME 8 Coded Welding.
The design and pressure vessel manufacture is approved by TUV with full EU declaration of Conformity and EU/CE Marking.
